Razr Maxx Killer deal

2012-12-12, 1:41 AM

Just picked up a Razr Maxx to upgrade my wifes phone and the local big box electronic store (not sure if I can post the store name without violating the user agreement here so I won't).   Price tag was $0 tax included.  Chose this over the Razr Maxx HD because for the extra $300 I didn't see anything terribly compelling about the HD model particularly when it gives up the webtop mode so won't work with the Lapdock we have.  I think she will be pretty happy stepping up from her previous phone  (Palm Treo 650) since she will have data service finally.

That was a great deal and the Maxx will get even better once it gets Jelly Bean.

Sounds like a great deal! I'm sure she will love the MAXX.

Chose this over the Razr Maxx HD because for the extra $300 I didn't see anything terribly compelling about the HD model particularly when it gives up the webtop mode so won't work with the Lapdock we have.

Has anyone using JB actually confirmed that it will not work with the lapdocks?

I have tried my HD on my Lapdock 500. It does work with the Lapdock, but you don't have Webtop software. All you get is a larger screen of your phone. It really isn't a very good experience. I had problems with the mouse that I was using and even removed the mouse to try to improve my experience.

I personally would sell my Lapdock before I would use the HD with it on a full time basis. That is just my experience, though.

Thanks Joel.

Sad news, but the truth isn't always to our liking.wink

I am looking at an HD as a possible replacement/upgrade to my Maxx.

We would still have my wife's Maxx to use with my modified Bionic dock.

I wonder if anyone will try to port the webtop app over to later phones...

Well the lapdock works great on JB - might even be smoother now!
