First of all, this subject is not resolved. Second, I've tried 3 or 4 of these phones. The batteries are cheap. They age quickly The designs don't seem to take into account complex apps and upgrades and they put a log of drain on the battery. The combination means that the phones just don't work. If the original battery only lasts 4 months, how long will a $60 replacement. I solved the problem a simple way - I got a Pixel. That battery lasted a whole day yesterday, and after 15 hours running today still have 15% left. Motorola phones are not of the quality they used to be..shame..

If your phone battery can last only 4 months, I'd have to say you are a heavy user or you've really let your phone heat up a lot. IONO about a new phone, a whole day and you only have have 15%? Definitely a heavy user.

Took my phone off wireless charger at about 9am. It now midnight and there is 15% left--donw to 12% in the time I'm typing this.... Stats show 2hr 17 i of screen time, and that is mostly at 50% birghtness. 17 hours phone idle...I asssume that started counting once it reached 100% during the night while on charger. Does this sound normal? Shouldn't I be able to get more? I'mnot a heavy user. No game playing, just some internet/email and texting

I not really sure if it is normal or not. At least yours doesn't turn off at random percentages like mined did before.
Battery time does shorten over years. There are also other factors besides standby time such as wifi, bluetooth, location, and notifications.
Also we remember we all realize how android OS seems use more power over android updates and new android OS. I have no idea why that happens.
I'll test out on how long it takes to drain 1% or 5% on standby sometime.

I believe thats a bogus screen - when the gauge gets to 100% it resets. I'm not pulling apart a phone to put in a better battery when the real answer is to get a Pixel or a Samsung.
