Moto Z user here. Battery went wonky right after the system update and now I too am stuck with a phone that shuts off in the middle of any activity. Can't be turned back on until plugged in.
After a full factory reset, the problem persists. I'm still paying Verizon for this P.O.S. Can't even downgrade the system due to the locked bootloader bs.
I see there are plenty of other users experiencing this exact problem, clearly caused by the manufacturer. I think we're entitled to some form of compensation. It's been months with no fix and I think most of us are past the warranty period.
Is there any movement on a class action lawsuit? I will not be purchasing a Motorolla phone again.
