"Bug report captured" Where to send?

2015-03-23, 13:22 PM

I had a "Bug report captured" notification pop up randomly. I didn't prompt this log, it just came up on its own. Is there a certain Moto support email I should send this to? It gave me the standard sharing menu where I can choose to send an email, save it to drive, etc. I thought that it would automatically send to Motorola without me having to type in an email address, as I have "Help improve Motorola Products" and "Enhanced device support" both turned on in the Motorola Privacy menu.

@ah42, I typically see bug reports attached to a comment in the corresponding thread. You can use the "Attach File" link just below and to the left of the comment area.

if you've been experiencing issues that you think the bug report may be related to, you might want to reach out to one of the MotoXPRTs by messaging them. They should be able to get the proper person to review the report and your concerns. If required someone from Motorola support may ask for more information.

Hope this helps! smiley

Turn off  Power menu bug report on the Developers options. Bug reports don't just pop up.

Thanks Tim for the info! What's weird is that I wasn't really having any issues when the bug report popped up. And @BobFire, that option was never turned on for me. It did just pop up out of nowhere, which I found strange. This isn't the first time it's happened either. But like I said, no serious issues were happening around the time it popped up in my notification area, so I'm not worried about it. I'm attaching the bug report in case anybody who knows about these things wants to look at it.

It's probably been about a month but I also had a mysterious bug report pop up a couple of times.  And thought it was strange also.  No app had crashed and I was just in the middle of doing something with some app but it did not crash seemed to be functioning properly.

Good to know I wasn't the only one this happened to.

Re: "Bug report captured" Where to send?

2017-02-11, 9:38 AM

For the past 2 weeks, I too have been receiving "Bug Report Captured" notifications DAILY on my Moto X Pure. Sometimes while I'm using it. Sometimes when I'm not, and it's just sitting on my night table. My phone appears to be in Developer Mode (though I have no idea how that happened???), but USB Debugging is turned OFF (and I have never knowingly turned it on).

When I click on "Send Bug Report," my email opens up, and the bug report is attached (usually together with a completely blacked out image), but it only allows me to send it to myself (there are no options). Also, the emails all seem to have a similar message in the body of the email:

"clark_retus-user 6.0 MPHS24.49-18-8 4 release-keys" (the numbers toward the end change up a bit).

Does anyone have any idea why I am receiving these and/or why this just started happening so suddenly? I have NEVER had a "bug report captured" message come up once in the entire time that I have owned the phone (May 2016 I think). Then on or around Jan 23, 2017 they just started popping up daily. Some times 2 or 3 times a day. Drives me batty! Any insight as to how I might be able to turn this off or make it stop? As mentioned before, my phone does NOT appear to have bug reporting turned on!

Thanks!

P.S. For whatever reason, I am unable to attach a bug report...
