Desktop Software

2015-07-16, 14:34 PM

Just purchased the Droid Turbo and so far loving it better than the Note 3. I'm finding a problem though -- I can't find any desktop software to interface with this phone.

I'm running a MacBook OS X 10.10 and I've downloaded MDM although it doesn't load. Wondershare has a paid app --> MobileGo although it is not supporting the newest version 10.10 Yosemite. They suggest using TransGo although it's a pain in the ass switching back and forth.

Is there any free software provided by Motorola that supports the Droid Turbo and Mac?? Is there any free desktop software around that can be used to transfer music & video??

Thanks.....

Well normally plugging the phone into a USB port on the computer will allow file transfer. Are you trying to do it wirelessly?

Well, no, I'm not attempting to do it wirelessly and no, the phone does not come up as a device when attached. You can't make Playlists with a file transfer.

I can use Android File Transfer to move files back and forth, that's it. Very poor interface, not versatile.

If you are using the native Play Music, you can use your browser to sign in to Play Music and upload your music library to that, then create playlists there, the two will automatically sync. If you are a iTunes user and don't want to convert to Play Music then the only option I know of is to create the playlist on the device itself.

I was wondering about the same thing. I can't see any of the files and the device doesn't show up as a device.

Do either of you have access to a Linux or Windows machine? Just to see if it follows. I am running a dual booted Windows/Linux Mint and my phone shows up on both. Sadly I don't have access to a MAC.

As you can see in my photo the XT1254 is the Turbo and the (G:) drive is the Verizon installer that is loaded in the phone.

If you look at the screenshot, do you see this when you swipe down when you phone is plugged into a computer?
