Droid turbo problems...

2015-12-15, 17:08 PM

Hi! I'm having problems with my Droid turbo (the original one), It reboots every hour and takes an hour to optimize apps, Is there a way to fix this?

Are they being recalled or something?

Same here, I went as far as to contact Motorola & they asked me to send it in, so I did. I got it back a few days ago & I'm still having the same problem. They sent a note saying that they did not find any fault. So I want to contact them again. Out of curiosity, which Turbo do you have? I have the ballistic nylon & my wife has the red one, we got them on the same day, Nov. 2014, & her's is working fine.

Have you tried clearing cache partition?

Instructions to do so can be found here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/102367/p/30%2C6720%2C9277/kw/cache

Do you have the latest system update installed? When did this behavior start? Did you install any new apps when this behavior started, or did an app update at that time?

What have to tried so far? Cache wipe? Factory Reset? If you haven't done a cache wipe I highly suggest it (How to clear the cache partition)

Same issue here.

Happens about 1/month -- the last two times when I was using Google Maps directions.

Phone freezes or turns off.  Turns itself back and optimizes apps. Nothing seems to be updated.

I have the Droid Turbo ballistic nylon.

I didn't have the latest update because I did some research & people who had the latest update were still having problems. I have tried to look for a pattern but it is really @ random times, its been doing it for about 2 months or so. I didn't install any apps around the time it started doing it. I just did the wipe cache so we'll see how that goes, don't know if Motorola did that when I sent it to them but they did update the software to Lollipop which I was not to excited about, personally I liked the KitKat layout better.

It is still acting up, even after clearing cache partition.

I had random reboots after having used the same setup through all the updates so far. After doing an FDR and monitoring and removing some unnecessary and poorly written apps and/or app features, I haven't had a reboot since and the phone has run much smoother. It's a pain to do the reset and get stuff setup again, but it also gives you a chance to clean house and it clears out any legacy settings and data.

Just make sure you know what is cloud synced or not, and deal with anything else that isn't.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is legacy settings & data?
