hopefully it's just software that needs to be fixed but seriously VoLTE calls stink by me.  I feel like it's a decade or two ago when dropped calls, screaming through static, and "can you hear me now" was typical.



Verizon should be embarrassed that they made a change to their network that causes there customers to have to ask "can you hear me now?"



anyway- do i understand correctly that if I shut off advanced calling it will revert my calls to 1x? (and kill my data while on a call....) I'll live without data if i can at least have a conversation without sounding like i'm on a 3rd rate carrier.

Frankly, VZW released a technology which is not ready for prime time in many areas (most of Southern California amongst other areas).



Until they come up with a software fix, it appears the VoLTE is largely unusable.



That being said, I find our turbos also have poorer 1X service as well when compared to our various 2013 phones.



Even with advance calling turned off (and simultaneous data lost), my reception is noticeably worse than my Razr HD Maxx.



I am not sure if VZW's shuffling of their technology deck is causing this, their network is becoming saturated or if these phones are not up to Moto's normally high radio standard.



Regardless, going three months without a significant improvement is a hard pill to swallow ... frown

I seem to be in the minority here... and not bragging, just sharing my experience. I have had better calls with Advanced Calling than on previous phones I've had. Could be my area though.... Seattle metro

I thought advanced calling update was to change this?

I still get an error on data request on my phone, even if it's Downtown Kansas City where I know there is coverage.

Have you enabled Advanced Calling on your Verizon account and your Turbo? AC is required to use Voice and Data at the same time.wink

I don't mean to introduce information that has already been discussed, but are the people that still experience no data while on a call, sure your on 4G or Wifi?  This was never explained in all the updating changelogs.  You have to be on 4G or Wifi for it to work.  You will still get the error if on 3g or lower.  I went thru 3 days of tech support before I figured this out on my own.

Oh it wasn't on. Last I looked saw something was auto on it... Just went into setting and checked it to go. We'll see. Thanks!

Oh... Like I said I have been on 4G in best parts of city so just couldn't understand. I hope this helps thanks for details!

I love my Turbo too - No way is it going back. Had I known what I know now back in October, I would probably would have re-evaluated my options and maybe waited for the N6. It's just the waiting for that support and not knowing when or if it will come that makes it frustrating. I made a choice and I'll stick with it. But hey, what's two years? wink

Verizon never really admitted or truthfully disclosed that simultaneous
voice and data would only work if you have LTE even after the update.
People had to just find it out.

Except for where they specifically say it, right? From their advanced calling FAQ




Simultaneous voice and 4G LTE data allows customers connected to Verizon's 4G LTE network to surf the web, continue a download, use an application, or use a feature like Mobile Hotspot while talking on a call.
