Problem with calls and the screen staying on

2015-07-01, 22:11 PM

Hello everyone,

I have just recently upgraded my Droid Turbo to Android 5.1 Lollipop. After the update when ever I receive or make a call and put the phone to my ear the phone does not go blank. This creates problems as I inadvertently start pressing buttons on the phone with the side of my face. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem when upgrading to the newest version.

I have had this issue on a few phones and the easiest fix I have found is simply hitting the lock button before putting it next to my ear.  If I need to access the screen I just unlock it and go

This is definitely an issue.  I keep either turning on speaker phone or hanging up on the person I'm talking to.  Is there no fix at all other than the power button?

I thought I'd revitalize this thread. This problem is out of control with the latest software patch. I have to keep certain parts of the screen clear of shortcuts so those apps don't launch.

It really got bad when I put the MSFT Cortana app icon on the front screen. Cortana would launch and listen while I was on the phone, try to decipher what I was saying, and then answer in my ear over the caller. Holy hell!!
