This is random, since I didn't think about this when I went to Verizon to pick up a new phone, but as I'm setting up my new Maxx, I though about this, did anyone try a remote erase with the Android Device Manager? I wish I had tried this before I returned it.

I doubt this would work as the device would not be accessible.  Now - If ADM somehow caches commands to anticipate the device being accessible again, that very well may be possible (and I good idea if not if it can trace IMEI and such nonsense).  But that would be a question for Moto Experts to answerm as I don't know if that capability is there or not.

I just sent a remote erase for piece of mind, since I couldn't do anything before I gave the bricked one back, just in case.  I figured it probably wouldn't work, but anything is worth a shot.  I wish I could go back to the store to check and see if anything changed.

We're talking about Droid Maxx. What phone do you own? Do you have this issue?

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

That has changed.  My phone is the same and I have never rooted or modded in any way.  Every unrooted, unmodded phone is the same.  Not to worry.

Hi Matt,

I did everything properly (no root, no hard or factory reset ever) and my phone got stuck on the Motorola logo while updating to kit kat like so  many others.

I'm not able to reboot the phone either.

I live in Los Angeles, can anything be done?

Matt, I'm in Iowa and my phone is bricked, stuck on boot screen. Never rooted or modified. Went to Verizon store, no luck. Replacement being sent by Verizon overnight, but I'm not real happy. I've never had an update brick a phone and this is my 5th Motorola phone. This was my work phone which really stinks as I'm on call 24/7.
