What is the correct MAXX Choice?

2014-07-04, 19:23 PM

I was filling out the profile, prompted by the survey and it asks what kind of phone I have.

The phone itself says Droid Maxx.

However, the profile options are Droid Ultra Maxx or Droid Razr Maxx?

I picked Ultra Maxx, but I'd like to know if there's a way to tell exactly which one via the phone.

The Verizon site shows the phone as a Droid Maxx. No Razr or Ultra mentioned.

Thanks!

Just to clear things up completely, the actual names are Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. For clarification, on this forum they list the Droid Maxx as Droid Ultra Maxx. They didn't want any confusion over the Droid Razr Maxx, Droid Razr Maxx HD, and the Droid Maxx. It was a simple solution to keep people from getting confused. Hope this helps.

You chose correctly, the RAZR Maxx was the previous version.

Ultra Maxx is correct.  I can't remember the reasoning right now, but there is a Droid Ultra which is basically the same phone with a smaller battery and so on this site they refer to it as the ultra MAXX.  You'll notice the forum is for the Droid Ultra and Ultra Maxx. The software is the same and the hardware is the same, except for the battery.

Thanks!

That also jogged my memory:

The Ultra is 16gigs of ROM and the (Ultra) MAXX is 32 gigs.

Thanks again! :)

When the 2013 phones launched, there was already a Droid Razr Maxx, a Droid Razr Maxx HD, and then along came the Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx.  This caused some confusion to new members, so, to help distinguish the phone from its predecessors, the forum set it up as the Ultra Maxx.

Not true anymore.

The current "Maxx" being sold by Verizon is 16GB. (I know, my boss purchased one).  If I remember correcly, the speaker grill and "M" logo on the back are light gray instead of black.

I looked online and yes, I see that.
Glad I got mine before the switch.

You got the winner.  I think the Maxx is still one of the best overall phones out there.
