DROID X on 2.2: Issues with Exchange corporate sync discussed here

2010-09-22, 12:33 PM

Push email is still not working after upgrading to Froyo!  We are using Exchange Server 2003 SP2.  Touchdown gets the email immediately just like when on 2.1, but the DX native client is delayed several mintues.  So upgrading to 2.2 did not help my issue at all.  What a disappointment...

@clstaton

I am sure you have done this, but just in case: did you double check after

the install that Push was checked in Email settings?

If yes, can you try to remove the account and re-create it?

If it still doesn't work, how consistent is the delay between native email

and TD?

First of all - yes, Push was checked.  So, I removed the corporate sync account successfully.  I added it back, and contacts or calendar did not sync at all.  I went in to the account setup, I unchecked contacts and calendar and checked apply.  I went back in and re-checked those options and checked apply.  For some reason, it now showed 2 corporate sync accounts.  I went into the 1st account and removed.  It was still showing the other account with no information, and it wouldn't let me delete it.  So next step I did a factory reset.  The phone comes up and does not let me activate.  I spoke with Verizon and tried the 4 corners tap to bypass the activation screen and that did not work.  There is no dial pad to enter a system configuration from Verizion.  Once you click "Activate" it automatically dials and you have no other options.  Emergency dial doesn't allow you to enter the system config number either.  So Verizon is now sending me a replacement phone, because of course no stores within 60 miles have stock on hand.  What a freakin nightmare!

Since it seems this thread will be getting the discussion a lot more.  I will ask here.  Why was the mail app designed in such a way that we have to hit "get html version" then "get images" and then usually "get more" just to view our html email?  Its crazy that users have to jump through all that just to properly view their email.

Just to keep this in the proper thread...

Did the update which went perfectly and still can not log into my corporate exchange server.  Getting the following error:

Login to the account failed, please try again.      Touchdown is still working perfectly.

I was afraid this was going to be the case...

Agreed.

I'm surprised Moto or some other big boy hasn't acquired Touchdown. I have no idea if Touchdown is part of a larger entity or not but they seem to be on top of their game and know what their doing.

Updated to 2.2 this morning and setup my exchange account.  Everything "seemed" to go great.  The settings took, logged in, and setup.  However, when you try to sync the account by clicking on the e-mail icon it thinks for a minute and then the status bar comes up with "Account Error".  If you click on it you get a message that says "Connection Error".  That's it.  What gives?

FWIW, my touchdown works flawlessly.  This is on Exchange server 2003.
