I was just wondering what is the motivation behind the E fuse System on the Droid X.
The E fuse is (apparently) a system that bricks/disables your phone if you try to install non Motorola approved software.
It looks awfully close to the Apple way of doing things, and light years away from the Android philosophy.
When the time comes to get Android 3.0, Droid X users will be in a situation even worse than the Cliq users of today: completely dependent on Motorola's will AND unable to upgrade their phones themselves.
So here is my question: Why, Moto? Why risk the PR crash, the Anger of the techno blogs and android fans? Why?
