Put me in the maybe column.

Would depend on what's out there when I get to upgrade. This would fall under the old saying...

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

But only the biggest fool of all falls for number three.

I'm on my first Motorola product so I'll give them some benefit of the doubt.  The hardware is super.  The software seems to have stablized of late - my big issues revovle around Exchange and Calendar.

I use the Mixzing music player when my phone is plugged in to my trucks radio and don't encounter reboots any longer.  I'm lucky that I don't have any issues with dropped calls, bluetooth or other factors.

So, what's the tally thus far?

(Also, the next time someone does a poll on this site, they should try signing up for a free account on Zoomerang.com or SurveyMonkey.com. It would make it easier to conduct a simple survey.)

You can add a poll to the forum if you want a real poll. I think nobody is counting this one anyway.

From what I can see, when people buy Motorola devices which are brand new and advertised gloriously, they are pretty happy at first. But then they start having problems and find out that Motorola is not really interested to give support after getting their money.(eg. poor software update cycles/policies).

So, it is not even enough to make a simple poll even, there is a difference between somebody who was using a non-android Motorola phone and can of course post to the thread, somebody who was using a Motorola android device for a short period of time and somebody who was using a Motorola android device for a long period of time (6-12 months). (also there are small opinion differences between people living in different continents even)

If you go and check backwards, you can see that some people who previously voted that they would buy a Motorola device now post that they changed their mind...

So, all things considered, I will definitely stay away from Motorola Android products (and in the past I was a big Motorola fan even).

HELL NO......I did love my X at first. That feeling has mooved to utter hatred. Fix my phone, support your customers and maybe you could get me back. I doubt it.

This seems to be the case with many of us. We all started out quite happy and satisfied.

As the problems started to stack up, enthusiasm turned to impatience, and eventually it turned to frustration and anger.

The general sense I have is that if you complain loud enough, VZ will step up and offer you a different phone. Still frustrating but at least and acceptable alternative.

As far as Moto, I feel as though we are dealing with a self-important corporation which has forgotten that these droid phones saved them from the brink and that we have many other alternatives.

My wife doesn't read any of the phone forums (and I don't discuss them with her), so she isn't influenced by them. However, this weekend she said that she is ready for different phone:

"When it worked I loved it, now I am just frustrated that we spend so much per month for undependable phones."

At this time, I'm in the NO category. I was in maybe earlier.

No, probably not.

My VZW Droid X running GB 2.3.3 has had 35 spontaneous reboots

in just 17 days which is absolutely unacceptable!

Not to mention the other bugs introduced with the GB OTA update.

Yet Motorola and Verizon are busy rolling out updates to other phones,

and not fixing the damage they have already done.

Note that the Droid X was none too stable on Froyo before the GB update,

averaging weekly reboots, but it would be a joy to go as long

as week without a reboot now.
