Re: New Update available

The download and update went very well and took about half of the time the original Gingerbread update took.  Now the wait to see if my reboot and connectivity issues have been fixed.  For my phone, every 30-40 hours of on time would trigger a reboot.  Here is hoping for a return to confidence in the Droid X.

Downloaded and installed with no problems. Seems to have fixed the issues I was having. So far. Looking to a brighter future (even if with Papa Google at the helm).

The problem was lack of available memory. It has been cleared up. Before the update, I would typically have 20MB free, now I have 108MB!

Everything is working great without a cache wipe.

Has anyone tried the camcorder to determine if the video is still choppy.  I will wait on taking the update until I can determine about the camcorder.  Thanks

I just took a sample video and still seems a little choppy to me....Here is the video so you can decide...I've noticed that if your moving the phone to video something, it seems choppy, but if you hold the phone still, and film something in motion, it's not so bad.

This seems to suggest that Moto, like Apple, knows best. They should just eliminate the 8MP setting because they obviously don't want you to use it.

Yes, in the scheme of things, perhaps this isn't a huge bug compared to others. But, if Motorola measured their fixes by which would give the most bang for the buck, they might realize that spending one day to fix the dozens of little annoyances like this would do more to improve the experiences of many, many users than two months worth spent on trying to solve a larger issue that "some" users experience. But what it sounds like you all got was a small toot for the big development bucks Moto has spent trying to fix the previous GB update.

I did the update this morning. I use music Music Mod and I had one shutdown. I went in and called it my default player and so far it's played music for over four hours with no problems. Right after the download I plugged in my ac adapter and the phone rebooted. I did a battery pull and tried plugging in the ac adapter and had no problems. The phone also worked well in the Motorola car unit too. By the way Music Mod currently says for Froyo only but it working fine. You can swipe to move up or back a track and also turn repeat or shuffle on or off with a circular motion. It also is transparent so you can see your back ground.

Hey, thanks for the video.  You are right, it is not that bad.  Looking forward to taking the update tonight.
