On X2, how to restore the original Contacts app?

Hello, people,

I inherited my son's old Droid X2.

He had "rooted" it, to get rid of some crappy apps that Verizon put on there.

We did a factory reset, to get rid of his old data / info.

Now, the Contacts app won't work at all.

From "Recent calls", I click and hold on a number,

then click "Add to Contacts".  I select "New Contact", and it says...

"Sorry!  The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts)

has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."  The only option is "Force Close".

I would settle for getting a new, different Contacts app,

but I don't want the original app to still be on the phone, if it cannot be used.

I'd rather restore the original, stock Contacts app.

Ya' got any clues as to How to do that?

Thanks, in advance.

Did your son use an app to freeze or disable any apps or processes? Without know what your son did to the phone it is pretty much impossible to help you.

Some people have also deleted apps or other things in the system folder when they have root. If this is the case than there is nothing you can do. You can go to forums that allow you to talk about rooting problems and ask them for some advice. They will know a lot more about this problem then people on this forum. HTH

Those are questions that would really need to be answered. You would be much better served by going to another forum like XDA. They specialize in rooted and modded phones. We only deal with stock phones.

I really have a feeling that your son may have deleted something that he shouldn't have. This isn't a problem that we will be able to help you with. Sorry.
