Update 4.5.605 bad idea

2011-10-03, 15:17 PM

I updated my phone last night to the 4.5.605 version and now my battery life is history.  I've been plugged in for the past 3 hours and can't get over a 50% charge.  Something called com.motorola.service.ma....  is using 70% of my battery constantly.

My keyboards locked 3 times and phone shut off without my help once.  Is it possible to roll back an upgrade?

My Corporate sync stopped working and I have been with my company helpdesk for hours. No fix yet. Suggested to use Nitrodesk. Look and feel changed.  Not happy at all.

Not in a way that is Moto or VZW approved.

Some have reported good battery improvement by doing the *228 / opt #2   ... someting to do with the "cell tower contacting/communication" process to need a refresh/update ... Try that ....  beyond that, Verizon will tell you to do a Factory Reset - their cure-all miracle ... (not).

I sugest all do a factory reset after the update. It seems to help with the bugs.

I agree. You could try a wipe cache partition first, but a Factory data reset is the best solution after any update/upgrade.

I am not a Motorola/Lenovo Employee. I am just a volunteer who happens to be a Moderator. All comments are my own and are not necessarily Motorola/Lenovo's position.

wipe cache partition fixed it for me. Also, you may want to go into Manage Apps/All/Text Messaging and clear the cache there as well. Repeat for Handcent SMS or any other SMS app you may have. Otherwise you will send duplicate text messages and drive your contacts nuts.
