Verizon Software Update Droid X2

Not a big list of fixes but than again I'm not sure there are many needed.

Re: Verizon Software Update Droid X2

A few fixes with a side of bloat...  I feel for those who have to uninstall useful apps to make room for the additional bloat...

Re: Verizon Software Update Droid X2

My question is, can you root and can you SBF back to 2.3.4?

Also, this isn't the soak test is it? I thought that just started a day or two ago. I can't believe that within a day, Motorola would approve it so soon after being released?

Is the soak test different from this?

Just curious.

Re: Verizon Software Update Droid X2

They don't allow rooting discussions here.

Based on past experience Verizon puts out those announcements in advance of the release.

I'd laugh if I weren't flabbergasted by the complete waste of time this update (apparently) represents.  It boggles the mind.

Re: Verizon Software Update Droid X2

This looks like a very minor update with the exception of the "Google Security Update". I'm pretty sure I know what that means.

Motorola has lost my complete support at this point. I'm done with them and I'm moving on to a different manufacturer and will never purchase another Motorola product again because of the unlocked bootloader fiasco, no ICS and now this.

I guess my BBB complaint didn't do anything.

The list of fixes/enhancements may not meet your expectations or mine, however some on the list are important enough for me to welcome them.  Just a guess but maybe they finally realized that it may be better to fix a few at a time.  My only real objection is the mandatory software.

As much as I'd welcome ICS I feel we get to hung up on moving up to new versions.  I would prefer less versions; just give one that works.  Unfortunately the software is upgraded and released based on marketing and not performance.  Same with the hardware and data network.  Give me a phone with software that works and data that moves at a decent clip reliably so that I don't feel the need to upgrade every 6 months.

I have no problem fixing a few issues at a time - unless it takes 3x as long.
