My britghtness setting does not always work

2012-01-03, 19:56 PM

So I turned off Auto-Brightness. and set my xyboard's brightness to about 30% but many times when I turn it on from sleeping it defaults to the maximum brightness.  I press the power button once to turn off the screen, then press it again to turn it back on and it goes back down to 30% as I had it set.  Happens many times throughout the day.

Any ideas whats going on?

Thanks guys!

Is the actual setting going back up to 100%, or is it your observation that the brightness is higher than it should be?

(Mine has a grey background and to be honest, I can barely tell the difference on the home screen.)

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

Thanks again Matt for your reply.

The physical setting marker is unchanged and is still set to around the 30% mark

But the brightness is definitely  brighter.

When I have the birghtness working right and set to 100% it is comprable to what is happening when it goes up by itself.

I too have the stock grey wallpaper and its hard to tell with that, so I tried it out with other wallpapers to make sure I wasn't imagining anything :-)

I've seen at least one other person on another forum mention this issue.  Its not a deal breaker, because realistically its not THAT big of a deal, just a small annoyance.

i have exactly the same problem, but as you describe it is intermittent so it's kind of hard to pinpoint the exact source.

I've noticed that this also happens when auto brightness is turned on, not just when I use my own brightness settings... it will override the auto brightness and go up to the maximum.
