JB Upgrade Issues, Questions and Tips (official)

2013-12-16, 18:52 PM

Welcome fellow Verizon 8.2" XYBoard owners now running Jelly Bean (4.1.2),

Please use this thread to report issues, ask questions, provide tips or other functional feedback. This thread is not intended to be a place to provide wish lists for future features or updates, but let's focus on getting the most from JB and reporting potential defects that need to be addressed. Please pass along your tips or ask questions from other JB users within this thread as well.

If you are reporting an issues, please provide as much detail as you can, including:

  • What is the error or symptom? What does it do to your 8.2 XYBoard?

  • What apps are running on your tablet when this occurs?

  • Have you tried rebooting or a Forced Reset? What were the results?

  • Is it a repeatable issue and if so, what are the steps (for others to try)?

  • Does the issue happen at other locations (especially if related to connectivity)?

  • If this appears to be app related, have you tried another (competing) app?

  • Have you found any work around for the issue?

This thread is only for the Verizon 8.2 XYBoard (with or without a service provider) updated to JB, there will be another thread opened for the 10.1 XYBoard tablets in the appropriate forum. As issues or gaps are identified in this thread, we will be able to aggregate the details here for Google or Motorola to review.

If you report an issue or question, consider following this thread for answers, suggestions or follow-up updates.

Thanks in avdance for your participation and contributions.

All,

If you haven't checked out the new "Easter Egg" that Google included with 4.1.2, give it a look. Go to Settings -> About Tablet -> and then tap several times quickly on the "Version Number" and a Jelly Bean will appear! If you tap the Jelly Bean, a face will appear. Long press the Jelly Bean and an interactive jelly bean mini-game will start, with Jelly Beans flying everywhere (fling a few with your finger!). If you play the game long enough, you just might catch one of the very random and infrequent candy canes that come zipping by!

Is anyone else having an issue with the dock application? On ICS when I docked mine it would rotate the screen 90° and chop off the notification bar at the bottom which worked pretty well (especially for renting films on Google Play etc...). On JB the screen doesn't rotate automatically so I have to tip the whole dock over and then it chops off the top of the screen on the television. It's a real shame as the work and play kit cost me a fair amount of money and was a major draw to this device!

Otherwise great update, I have that new toy feeling again.

Cool. How did you discover the jellybean thing? Are there any rumors of a 4.3 upgrade? I only ask because I would like to be able to use Bluetooth 4. Is there another forum to discuss that kind of stuff?

Thanks,

Rich
