1G BiDi SFP for NE1032

2020-03-31, 8:11 AM

Hello all!

Im trying to find a BiDi 1G SFP for this switch but i cannot. Any suggesstions?

Our ISP delivers the connection via BiDi interface, so its quite important.

I tried our ISPs SFP and they are "Unapproved"

It is quite irritating with Lenovo and SFP approval, Juniper, Brocade and Extreme all accept these OEM BiDI SFP but not Lenovo :(

Hello,

Having worked at Cisco for many years, I would find it very odd that they would except a third party optic such as this unless, A) it had been programmed to look exactly like a Cisco module (i.e. counterfeit), or. B) Someone had entered an over ride command into the Cisco to let it use third party optics. With that said, you can also use an over ride command in Lenovo switches to support third party optics, that will allow most products to operate. I will send you this command via a private message shortly.

Thanks, Matt

Hi!

Thanks for the command, solved our situiation for now.

Well, it was not Cisco i mentioned ;) i know thay are very pickey as well, But Juniper, Brocade and Extreme have no issue with OEM SFP, it was those switches we replaced with Lenovo switches.

Hi Matt,

Must be the year for it, our ISP has also asked us to deliver an internet connection using BiDi. Can you send me the Unsupported Tranceiver command in case we need it as well?

Thanks,

Kevin-John Beasley
