Laptop won't charge with docking station.

Recently purchased a Lenovo Docking Station: ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock v2  (Model 40B70090US) to use with my Lenovo work laptop (Charging + 2 additional monitors work fine.)

I have a personal Lenovo Laptop - Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14ITL05.

When I connect to docking station with the Ideapad, the two monitors connect fine, but there is no charging occurring (which is the problem).

I've tried to upgrade the firmware on the docking station, but get an error that it can not update due to not being plugged in or having great than 25% battery (which I have).

Is there any one who has solved this problem.

The whole point to getting the docking station was that I could switch between the two machines seamlessly.

Thanks in advance.

Re:Laptop won't charge with docking station.

hi

how many Watts is your laptop's PSU?

how many watts is the Doc's PSU?

the DOC provides 65W when a 90W power adapter is connected.

you can also try the FW update, having the laptop's charger plugged in as well. Won't do any damage.

Also, when you search the compatible units for the DOC, your's isn't listed.
