Lenovo Display Control Center - Firmware update fails

2021-10-12, 12:54 PM

I installed the Lenovo Display Control Center - ThinkColour.

The software provides me a firmware update (1.3) but fails with error code 10.

When I click on "Reinstall" the UAC ask me for username and password twice (logged in account has no admin right).

I type in the admin credentials but the update fails.

Anyone else have this problem or Lenovo could you explain why this happens?

If this section of the forum is wrong for this case, please move it to the right place.

Thanks!

Hello pilgi3!

Greetings!

Try manually installing first the monitor drivers here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Displays-Options-and-Accessories/Lenovo-Display-Control-Center-Firmware-update-fails/m-p/5103897

If the issue is the same, try uninstalling the app and reinstall following these steps: https://support.lenovo.com/eg/en/solutions/ht511637-lenovo-display-control-center

Update us on how it goes.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I guess you have made a mistake.

The link for the driver is wrong.

If you mean this one: monitors and projectors :: lcd monitors :: thinkvision t27hv 20 Lenovo PC Support - Lenovo Support AT

I have installed the driver already.

I have exactly the same issue:

Installing failed, error code: 10

Downloading the firmware manually and installing it from the local file didn't work either.

Sorry for the mistake in the link provided earlier.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LDCC app and run the update? You can get it here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/monitors-and-projectors/lcd-monitors/thinkvision-t27hv-20/downloads/ds547223-lenovo-display-control-center-thinkcolor

Have you tried on both from the MS store and local option on the link?

May I know what is the machine type model(MTM) of the device where the monitor is connected? What is the OS version as well?

I also tried with the local version.

Same issue.

My device is a ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 (20W1) and we are using Windows 10 20H2.
