I have read thru most of the post regarding connecting 4k display to Y700 laptop they dont seem to have a solution or a clear statement that its not possible(or why?)
Lenovo Y700 laptop...connect 4K display via USB3.0
My laptop has only a HDMI1.4 port....so I get an output of 3840x2160 resolution @30Hz....I have a 4K tv and cables (both verified by connecting thru PS4 pro) ...i thought this is a limitation of the HDMI port so i bought a docking station(Targus docking station DOCK177 ) to get the output from USB 3.0 and connect via HDMI from docking station to my TV but the output was still at 30Hz....
Is there any way to increase the output to 60hz?
my graphics drivers are
Intel HD graphics 530
Nvidia Geforce 960M
Based on my research both the drivers support 4k at 60 Hz(i verified this by displaying 4K at 60hz in the laptop screen) it doesnt provide the same only for external display.....could there be a driver missing or a software limitation of some kind as the hardwares (display adapters, USB 3.0, docking station, HDMI cable and the TV seem to be supporting 4K @ 60hz) what could i be missing here?
