Play/Pause button issue with SK-8815 keyboard

I want the play/pause button on this keyboard to play/pause the media sofrware of my choice (iTunes). Instead the driver software insists on "playing" a CD in the CD drive. This is not what I want. I don't play music CDs in my computer. I listen to MP3s. And the software refuses to pass this message along unless there is a CD in it with some kind of autoplay option. I can put in an autoplay CD, but then I have to close it every time I play/pause my music.

Is there any way to fix this? My old Microsoft keyboard worked just fine for this functionality. I really want a single press to pause/play my music without having to switch over to iTunes and not have a CD in the CD drive.
