To Whom it may concern:
On 2-4-14 I found a windows 8.1 update available for my ASIX - LAN - ThinkPad OneLink Dock USB GigaLAN (ThinkPad Pro Dock). Device Manager shows that I am running Asix version 1.16.11.0. I also updated KB2911106 (8.1 general update) & KB2929825 (Security update) at the same time if that matters at all. Using the Lenovo System Update tool at the same time I also installed the updates available there: Smart Connect Driver version 4.2.40.2418, Thinkpad Hotkey Package version 5.22.0000, and Synaptics UltraNav version 17.0.12.60. I then fully rebooted.
I just ran an update check on Lenovo System update and Windows update and I a fully updated on everything. (Except all the Bing garbage they try forcing on you :) I hate to speak before fully tested, but I can say that I have run longer than I ever had without a network disconnect issue from the Dock. I also have not sat at my desk for a full days work yet. I have run at least 4 hours while connected to the dock without an issue which is something I was never able to do before. I hope this is a sign of much better things to come.
Also on a note about Lenovo's support team - I have been contacted directly by Lenovo's support team at least three times to get details on this issue, and to make sure that I would be fully supported - and I expect a follow up call today. I only called them once on this issue. I have not seen the poor support others are stating on this board. The fix is not as work dependent in my situation as I use my laptop most often on the go - so I understand that for others the issue might be a bigger deal. There is an problem, Lenovo is aware of it and is working on it, and we can't expect it to be fixed in a day :) Just thought I would throw in my two cents - Thank you Lenovo Support Team.
Also I am using a power supply of 20volt 3.25amp - I also have my Dock Network driver Power Management setting unchecked or disabled for allowing the computer to turn off the device to save power.
Hope all this helps someone else!
