The latest AX88179 Win8.1 driver that you had updated from Windows Update should be v1.16.11.0.

After doing the complete Win8.1 update, this issue was solved in your site. I suppose this issue should not be happened again even if you uninstalled the latest Ax88179 WIn8.1 driver v1.16.11.0 and then installed back the previous v1.16.10.0/v1.16.9.0.

Please help to double check it if possible. Thanks a lot for your great helps.

You did not understand me. The problem is not solved after installing the driver. Because I tried different versions of drivers. The problem was solved after the installation settings, which I have in the screenshots.

Hi,

I'have the One Link Pro,

Problem: no boot TPY (hung on windowsscreen i used the power button of the dock.  Had to usethe power of the TPY and disconect the dock and connect after complet boot up.

Also NO ethernet connection. Connecting the ethernet cable via USB adapter directly on the TPY perfect ethernet conncetion.

they send me a new dock. Same problem! But then i discovered that theAC adapter of the dock is 90 W output 4.5 A

The AC adapter of the TPY is 45 W output 2.25 A.

I connected the TPY (45W) Ac adapter to the dock and the dock to the TPY.

And now its working!! the TPY boots up via power button dock and also ethernet conncetion, and no problems so far (third day so far )

I don't know of this will help anayone but thought i will share this info

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

Can this issue be improved by just disabling the "Energy-Efficient Ethernet" setting? We would like to double check if this issue is related to the Energy-Efficient Ethernet function or the Wake-ON-LAN function supporting issue on TPY + Onelink dock.

In my case it helped. Need to get someone else tried to do this, such as you. Try this method! After changing the settings, do not forget to restart the laptop.

Dear dimitryg,

Thanks a lot for your great feedback. It should be very helpful to narrow down the root cause of this issue.

All,

Can you also refer to dimitryg's recommended setting to disable the "Energy-Efficient Ethernet" setting on AX88179 Win8 driver to double check if it works for you or not?

For Onelink Pro dock case, you can also try to disable the "Energy-Efficient Ethernet" setting on Realtek's USB to LAN Win8 driver to double check if it works for you or not?

If no, please also try to disable the "Wake on link change", "Wake on Magic Packet", "Wake on pattern match" setting as dimitryg's suggestion to isolate this issue.

Please help to update your test results for the others' reference.

This problem I also have! If you connect the docking station when the laptop is turned off and plug in a laptop, it will not boot until disconnect the docking station.

Included with my docking station power unit 65W (3.25A)! If we calculate the 4-port USB (500mWt * 4 = 2A) charging the notebook and the power port USB + charge is just 1.25A. I think this is not enough.

They seem to have increased the power supply voltage to 90W. Have you resolved the problem, when you connect a more powerful power supply?

You connect the power supply unit at 45W? And it worked?

In your case, the problem was resolved by replacing the power supply? Instead, which came complete with a docking station (90W), you connect the power supply, which was complete with TPY (45W)?

Yep, so far it works, don't ask me how or why...
I'm curious if this wil work fore someone else..
I did not trynto connect te 95W adaper again, bit afraid that the problems come back.. I'm glad it works now.

Problem not resolved completely;; When using Skype call to some one ethernet is disconecting.. but seems indeed a usb issue, cause also disconneting when ethernet is om the TPY usb port (using a thinkpad usb 3.0 to ethernet 10/100/1000 adapter) Outgoing data the cause??

So still not working 100% but better than before (0%)

Waiting for the driver update i guess..

Re: OneLink network port flapping

2014-02-06, 14:54 PM

To Whom it may concern:

On 2-4-14 I found a windows 8.1 update available for my ASIX - LAN - ThinkPad OneLink Dock USB GigaLAN (ThinkPad Pro Dock).  Device Manager shows that I am running Asix version 1.16.11.0.  I also updated KB2911106 (8.1 general update) & KB2929825 (Security update) at the same time if that matters at all.  Using the Lenovo System Update tool at the same time I also installed the updates available there:  Smart Connect Driver version 4.2.40.2418, Thinkpad Hotkey Package version 5.22.0000, and Synaptics UltraNav version 17.0.12.60.  I then fully rebooted.

I just ran an update check on Lenovo System update and Windows update and I a fully updated on everything. (Except all the Bing garbage they try forcing on you :)  I hate to speak before fully tested, but I can say that I have run longer than I ever had without a network disconnect issue from the Dock.  I also have not sat at my desk for a full days work yet.  I have run at least 4 hours while connected to the dock without an issue which is something I was never able to do before.  I hope this is a sign of much better things to come.

Also on a note about Lenovo's support team - I have been contacted directly by Lenovo's support team at least three times to get details on this issue, and to make sure that I would be fully supported - and I expect a follow up call today.  I only called them once on this issue.  I have not seen the poor support others are stating on this board.  The fix is not as work dependent in my situation as I use my laptop most often on the go - so I understand that for others the issue might be a bigger deal.  There is an problem, Lenovo is aware of it and is working on it, and we can't expect it to be fixed in a day :)  Just thought I would throw in my two cents - Thank you Lenovo Support Team.

Also I am using a power supply of 20volt 3.25amp - I also have my Dock Network driver Power Management setting unchecked or disabled for allowing the computer to turn off the device to save power.

Hope all this helps someone else!
