ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

I am having displayport issues in regards to the ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock with and X1 Carbon. From what I've read this issue can be resolved with a firmware update.

When I go to download the firmware:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd029981

All I get when I download it is an application to flash the firmware, It doesn't seem to come with the actual firmware. When I hit the update firmware button I get a windows explorer box asking me to select a firmware file.

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Just to validate one thing, when you run "tp_onelink_pro_dock_fw.exe" does it generates a file called "update.log" on the same folder? If so, can you post what it says?

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

Hello,
It´s my first time in a forum.

I have the same problem with my OneLink Pro Dock and hope you can help me.

The message stored in the update.log file is:

Version: 0.00.000
Update result: 255
Error description: Can't connect to Synaptics VMMxxxx DP hub IC

How can I get the dock updated with the latest firmware of Lenovo??

Thanks for all helpfull answers Smiley Wink

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

I'm having the exact same issue... exact same text in update.log file:

Version: 0.00.000
Update result: 255
Error description: Can't connect to Synaptics VMMxxxx DP hub IC

I have 1 docking station working, and one that is impossible to update the firmware to get it fixed because the update won't run without seeing a display attached! Why does the firmware require a display to be attached?

Obviously it doesn't see the display attached and that's why i need to update the firmware to solve that issue.

What kind of engineers are running the release of software like this???

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

I've managed to get the monitor of my Yoga 14 to work when connected to the Pro Dock. Display Settings seems to detect the external monitor I have connected via DisplayPort but I cannot configure anything to output video or audio to the external monitor. When I try to run the firmware updater available through the link above I get an error message saying the ID doesn't match and the firmware is for a different board.

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

Hi Guys

Downloaded tp_onelink_pro_dock_fw...

Bitdefender keeps blocking it as malious file, dug a little deeper says the file is infected with a virus.

Anyone else having this issue?

Re: ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock Firmware

Hi

The only thing interesting I had found on the readme is :

- Connect the dock to the system and make sure at least one monitor connected to the Dock displayport and working properly.

But I don't have that dock to test.
