ThinkPad USB-C (40A9) USB3 Ports, Ethernet Not Functional

2019-03-07, 9:25 AM

I have a problem on laptop Lenovo T580 with this dock station.

I had opportunity to test this dock on other T580 and same problem experienced.

When I connect laptop to dock station I get correct video connections for two external displays via Display Ports.

So video connection works fine.

When I connect ethernet cable, it gets both diods turn on, so it is powered and signal is transmitted to dock, but there is no connection to laptop. Not even trying to connect.

When I connect by usb mouse or keyboard or anything, there is no response from laptop, like it doesn't exist.

I tried to search for devices with windows 10 tools, but nothing showed up.

I updated via Lenovo Vantage all possible software.

Installed ThinkPad USB-C Dock Driver from https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/pl/en/downloads/ds501902

I get this in Devices and Printers, then in Device Manager as well:

Can't install/update drivers for this device. Also troubleshooting didn't help anything.
