You will find attached to this message the output of commands.

Also the output of "sudo find /sys/class/typec/ -ls" is :

74079      0 drwxr-xr-x   2 root     root            0 mars  9 19:19 /sys/class/typec/

thank you!  Is this directory really empty?

what does  ls -al /sys/class/typec/  show?

Tech-Savvyness does not replace reading the fine manual.

Yes the directory is empty, "ls -al /sys/class/typec/" give the same result

Hi,

My configuration :

Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 AMD Ryzen 7

Monitors : 2x Dell S2721DS 2560x1440 and 1x acer 1920x1080
Dock : ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2

On Linux I can connect only one monitor on the dock and 2 others monitors are connected directly on the laptop with hdmi and usb-c port.

If I connect the 2 2560x1440 monitors on the dock, one of them stay in standby

Before this configuration I was able to put 2 1920x1080 screens on the dock.

On Windows if I connect the 2 2560x1440 monitors on the dock with hdmi/DP all works.

Did you find the solution? I have similar situation:

Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 AMD Ryzen 5

2x ThinkVision S24q-10 2560x1440

ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2 40AS

Can get the displays work in QHD and connected to dock only on Windows 10 (2x4K@60 is also OK)

Ubuntu 20.04 kernel 5.6.0 only FullHD

Yesterday I installed amdgpu driver (not the pro) version 20.45 and it worked! I can set both displays QHD@60.

Can you give me a link with the procedure ? thanks

What's your kernel version ?

EDIT: Ok it works now with two QHD displays but one on hdmi and the another one on display port.

Also to install amdgpu I had to downgrade from a kernel in version 5.8 to version 5.6.

driver (version 20.45): https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-amdgpu-unified-linux-20-45

instructions: https://amdgpu-install.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html

I'm on Ubuntu 20.04.1

I had kernel 5.6.0 when I installed the driver. The pro version (amdgpu-pro-install) gave me artifacts, so I uninstalled it and installed version without pro (amdgpu-install). After that I was able to set QHD on both of the displays connected to dock station. The side effect of the driver installation was that I couldn't control built-in display brightness, but i upgraded the kernel to 5.11.12-051112-generic (via ubuntu-mainline-kernel.sh script) and everything works fine now. Hope it helps.
