ThinkVision P24h-10 (via USB-C) not detected after it was disconnected and felt asleep

Very annoying problem with USB-C connection.

We have X1 Carbon 6 gen and T480 2018 thinkpad laptops. All laptops updated to latest bios, drivers, windows, etc.

Problem:

- when laptop disconnected from display (USB-C, cables came with monitors) and reconnected back shortly - no issues

- when laptop disconnected from display for extended period (over night) and then plugged back in - monitor can't be detected in 85% of cases, however USB hub works.

The only stupid workaround is turn off monitor by pulling power cord, wait 10-15 seconds, hear "usb disconnected" sounds and then plug power back in. Then it works okay through the day.

This drives me crazy. We bought approximately 30 of those monitors. And they all have same issue.

I have few similar DELL monitors with USB-C - and there is no issue with those, they work like a charm Smiley Sad

I suppose there is a bug in monitor firmware... but i dont see any firmware updates for it. Is there a way to disable some kind of "deep sleep" mode it uses?

Is there a way to fix or get support from Lenovo?

This is information from OSD:

Scaler-LA1.1

Type-C-3.0

USB Hub-1.23

Hi Latonita! Welcome to our forums community. Try running the update through the Lenovo Vantage app. Install all available update and restart the computer. Check if the issue persist.

Re: ThinkVision P24h-10 (via USB-C) not detected after it was disconnected and felt asleep

I am having the same problem . I have Thinkpad P52 and HP Elitebook which i connect to the monitor depending on what i do .

And i always have the disconnected sound issue only with the P-52 , which leads me to believe that this somethiing to do with the USB  C firmware on the Laptop . I have tried so many settings and i am still having issues .

This is ridiculous that Lenovo Laptop and Monitor are having issues .

But the monitor works fine with HP .

Re: ThinkVision P24h-10 (via USB-C) not detected after it was disconnected and felt asleep

I found a simple fix to this , Downloaded move mouse from win10 store .

I let it run in the background , I have seen that my monitor goes to sleep but it does not loose USB-C connectivity to speakers or any of the other connected devices .

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
