Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

It would be great if  there was a way to update the firmware on older ones. Both my P27h-10 have Microcode Type-C version 0.1 ...

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Has anyone had the problem of connecting their P27h-10 with another monitor using only DP.  I am trying to daisy-chaning the P27h-10 to a dell monitor with the Displayport and the Passthough.  In this post i have seen people mentioning using a USB-C,  do you need to use a USB-C to get the Displayport Passthough to work?

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Daisy chaining should work fine using only DP. Check the settings in the monitor menus. Daisy chain should be enabled in the first monitor, but not in the second.

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

I have probably 20-30 of the P27h-10's.  The majority of them are paired with X1C6's but the results are insanely sporadic.  I would say that over half of them have issues with plugging in the X1, it charges, audio and usb passes through yet no display.  Sometimes the second monitor doesn't work but the first does, sometimes neither, the only resolution is pulling the power from the monitor and plugging it back in or unplugging and plugging the usb-c cable a dozen times before it decides to work.  I've tried different usb-c cables as well becuase the included ones were pretty janky.  Nothign resolves it.  Super frustrating.. I'd say the users who do have problems its about 75% of the time they try to dock.

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Hi, when you connected monitor 1 via DP and then M1 to M2 via DP, did you use original DP output on your laptop or via adapter e.g. usbc to DP cable?
thanks

Is there an administrator I can talk with? Lenovo support hotline is not capable of answering my questions...

thanks.

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

@GTATech

Trying to replicate your setup with an X1C6 and two P24H-10 monitors. The first monitor connects fine via USB-C; however, when I enable "DP Daisy Chain" the monitor goes blank. My keyboard and mouse (connected through the monitor) still function so the USB-C connection is still recognized but no image comes up. Did you encounter anything like this?

Also, annoyingly the only way to get the image back is to connect the monitor via HDMI to access the settings panel and restore to factory. If I don't do this the USB-C connection won't display video and there is no way to get to the settings menu unless the monitor recognizes an input source.

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Hi My setup does not work, even all is set and seems to have correct firmware:

Macbook 2016 (USB-C to USB-C cable) P27h [DP out] (DP to DP cable)  [DP in] P27h.     On both monitors I enable daisy chain. I still can not get the setup working. I bought both of them early December

Monitors P27h-10

Scaler - LG1.2

Type-C 2.9

USB HUB 1.23

What should I change or adjust

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Hi Peter,

it will likely not work.

i have the same problem but with p24h monitors.

after searching a lot I found a possible issue: it’s the MacBook, since it only supports MST for one monitor.

i use two usb-c cables, one to each monitor. Not a nice workaround but works.

Re: ThinkVision P27h-10 daisy-chaining

Replying to myself here. For anyone interested, problem was defective monitors. Spent hours on the phone with Lenovo, they ended up sending me a replacement set and they work as expected.
