I have had some success with this on at least one docking station so far. Once you insure all of the updates are installed, shut down all devices attached to the dock including the computer. Unplug the dock for 15 seconds. Once the time is up, plug the dock and all the peripherals back in. Turn on the power by using the power button on the dock itself. When I did this, all the devices came up normally. This was the only way I was able to get it to work. We have 9 more of these docks with this same issue that I'm going to attempt to replicate this on.

All,

Thank you for your patience regarding the issue; it has been confirmed that this was unique to the Lenovo Vantage update process. The update package, which was removed from the web and Vantage last week, has been reinstated on the web and will be available through Vantage once the issue has been completely resolved.

Users who wish to update their docking firmware can obtain the package here:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS505188

Thanks again, regrds

Is that download an intended solution to the "bricked dock" problem?

Dear Lenovo staff,

May I suggest that you pass the message to the maintainers of the Vantage solution that they at least evict the faulty "ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Firmware Utility" from the proposed updates? This way, at least new users won't be "infected" by this issue.

I had this update popped up on my Vantage today, but it failed to install. Not sure if I was lucky dodging the bullet? I reckon the FW should have been fixed since there is a link provided by Andy the Admin? Anyway, I tried a few times to install it from the Vantage but all failed due to unknown reason and I couldn't find anything from the Event Viewer. Not sure if I should keep trying. The link provided by Andy still not working BTW.
