Yep. I just saw the exact same behavior on my machine. I had to rollback the driver once again.
Good thing my employer has only rolled out about 25 Gen5 models so far.

Old drivers should be on your computer still. Go to "Device Manager", "Sound, video and game controllers", right-click "Thinkpad USB-C Dock USB Audio" (or whatever is right for your dock), click "Update Driver", "Browse my computer for driver software", "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer". This should show older versions of the driver, and you can go back to those from there (with a reboot).
I'm having this exact same problem after I udated the driver to the newest version yesterday.
Your solution worked perfectly. I just clicked "Rollback Driver" and it was done super quick.

So I found the right driver online after a bit of searching. Here's the inf file you can install with the right audio (7/24/2017 vintage). Unzip of course

Having the same audio lag issue with the Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock. https://twitter.com/ArtemR/status/1060950315690684416
Glad I found this thread. Fingers crossed the promised end of November fix will actually work.

sorry for the trouble to you.
Yes, same issue with same root cause has been confirmed with Thunderbolt Workstation Dock too, which use same audio driver as last generation of Thunderbolt Dock. November end release will fix it.
