Thinkpad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock

So I have one of these Thunderbolt 4 Workstation docks that I just purchased, and I've read that you should download and install the drivers (done).  Reboot and then run the firmware update on the dock.  When I do that, I get the following messages appearing in the window of the updater:

And that's it.  The computer is a brand new P16 Gen2 workstation (hence the need for the dock with the 230W power supply), running Win11 64bit.

What gives?  Why can your software running on your laptop not update your dock???

Re:Thinkpad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock

Hi there, JamesH_23!

Welcome to our community.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you are experiencing issues with updating the firmware on your ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Based on the error message you provided, it seems that there was a timeout during the firmware update process. This could be due to various reasons, such as a poor connection or an issue with the firmware update utility.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps:

  1. Ensure that your dock is properly connected to your computer and that all cables are securely plugged in.
  2. Try using a different Thunderbolt port on your computer, if available.
  3. Restart your computer and try running the firmware update utility again.
  4. If the issue persists, try updating the firmware using a different computer, if possible.

If same issue persists, I strongly suggest for you to reach out to the Technical Support Team in your region as the issue needs further testing and analysis.

Regards,
