The most common wireless networks found in use today are the 802.11g and 802.11n networks.  Many of the wireless adapters available today support the b/g/n protocols.  To ensure that your PC, tablet or phone works with your wireless network, check the specifications for the device and wireless adapter.

Special Considerations for Encryption & Security for Wireless Networks

It is important that you consider the security and encryption to be used for your network.  Generally, avoid using WEP encryption unless absolutely required as it is less secure.  WPA2 is sufficient for most home networks and is the most common method used today.
