The media keys worked fine without installing the Lenovo driver, but with it installed the play/pause button gives a"There is no CD in the drive. Please insert an audio CD, VCD or DVD and try again." error, in addition to correctly triggering the play/pause. The rest of the buttons are fine.
Also is there any chance of making the system info button configureable?
I would also suggest a way to reset individual quick buttons without reseting all functions to defaults.

Yup getting that message as well.
My suspicion is the USB Enhanced Performance Keyboard software is sending out an extra key message when I press the Play/Pause button. There's no way to edit the behaviour of the media keys in said software, and I've looked around to see if there are some other windows settings that might let me control how the key behaves. With no success. I've even tried capturing the key press messages that the keyboard emits. And also disabling CD playback. All of which suggests to me there's a software call from the tray program which is calling the CD player.

Has this issue been resolved?
It is still persistent in version 184.108.40.206.
If not, can you please remove status checking of the devices? Let that just be decided by the OS/App. I do not even have CD/DVD/Bluray unit in my laptop. Thanks.

I am not a an hacker but was able to solve this issue by replacing the calles to the message box in the DLL with "nops".
I dont take any responsibliy of this solution... this is what I did:
1. Create backup of the original file "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\USB Enhanced Performance Keyboard\Skutil.dll"
2. Kill task "Skdeamon.exe" so you can edit the dll
3. Edit the DLL using hex editor in the following way:
4.Thats it, you can now restart "Skdeamon.exe"
