Re:disappointed with Thinkpad Trackpoint Keyboard II quality

No luck here. Clearly, if there was a bug in the system that rejects serial numbers (so that we can file a warranty claim online), after more than two months it should have been fixed.

Yet another month passed with no resolution. After more than three months, we are still unable to add the keyboard's S/N to the system so that we can file a warranty claim.

Hello @utopcell

Please call support as previously advised, the keyboard serial number not being recognized turns out not to be a bug but working as designed. You can use a system serial number from a PC device which is in warranty and was purchased together with the keyboard, should that be the case, to open an online ticket but for keyboard alone that is not available, you will need to call the support number for your country.

Re:disappointed with Thinkpad Trackpoint Keyboard II quality

I just had the same problem: a foot fell off days after purchase.  I called tech support, after a few hours on hold they told me they would exchange it for a new keyboard, and then transferred me to another department.  That department told me they couldn't do an exchange, said they would transfer me back to technical support, and then hung up on me.

This would possibly be acceptable in a game company, but isn't in a company that pretends to service businesses.

By the way @Andy_Lenovo, can you please ask the adrian_lenovo person whose job it is to defuse the bad reviews at the shopping site with pablum replies like "sorry you were disappointed, you can buy something else that works better" to please knock it off.   It adds insult to injury and reflects badly on all Lenovo employees.  If Lenovo doesn't want to stand by their products anymore, they could at least have the good grace to not further insult their customers.

Thinkpad TrackPoint Keyboard II broken stands

2020-10-22, 16:57 PM

Hi. I bought a thinkpad trackpoint keyboard II several months ago and haven't use it for a while. Recently I brought it with me to my office for several times and then I found that the two stands are very loose. The next day they were broken and directly fell off. (I attached the photos of them). It seems that the foldable stands are very weak in structural design.

Can you help repairing the stand? It's quite useful actually. And also is there any measures that I can take to prevent them from broken again if they get repaired?

Thinkpad TrackPoint Keyboard II broken stands

Lenovo seems to have decided not to stand behind this keyboard. If these were made from a glass-reinforced plastic they would not break, but it would add a few pennies to the cost of manufacture. I've seen 3d-printed replacements for sale on ebay that claim to be stronger, I haven't tried any yet.

I think the customer service messed up with the warranty for this keyboard.

From existing order help (855-253-6686):

"As much as we wanted but we can't process a replacement here. The technical support they can help you."

"We don't replace keyboards."

From technical support (800-426-7378):

"We could not create a service request without a valid S/N. Please call 855-253-6686."

"We don't support accessory purchased without other laptop/dektop product."

Nice loop!

ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II - Keyboard feet replacement

2020-11-09, 7:24 AM

Hi there,

I own the new bluetooth keyboard for a few months now...

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories/ACC500164

ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II-German

One of my keyboard feet is broken. It's the left one.

Can anybody help me getting a replacement? Where/how do I have to order?

The german support wasn't able to help me and I didn't find any contact who knows this new product.

Thanks, Tommy

Perhaps this: Lenovo ThinkPad Trackpoint Keyboard II Tastatur Ersatz Ersatz Bein Stall Fuß | eBay ?

These are 3D-printed copies, not the original parts.

If you have access to a 3D printer then this reddit thread may be helpgful: How to get a Replacement foot for Lenovo ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard?
