how to set custom mp3 ringtones

When selecting a ringtone from the address menu | edit, it only lets me choose between mid1 to mid19.   Where do you have to put mp3's to make them selectable as ringtones?

@seizepuppet

Have you tried to assign new ringtones directly from your Contact edit/option area?

Re: how to set custom mp3 ringtones

Yes, I'm going into phone book where contacts are choosing options, and scrolling down to the note icon where you can select the tone.  Only the built in MID1- MID19 is showing up.

I did find that if you go select

Menu

Multimedia

media player

all media files

scroll to the mp3 you want to use as a ring tone

Options

Use as

press ok when user profiles is selected.

Then when I edit contacts, the mp3 that was selected above shows up in the list.  It only let me do this for 5 mp3's though.

Re: how to set custom mp3 ringtones

Frown Hi, how I can set volume of ringtone on the permanent level? Frown

Now some time I don’t hear ringing due the decreasing of loudness of phone to the minimal value (accident pressing the loudness keys in my pocket to the minimal value Level 1).

Sorry, the ringtone volume is set, and always variable by the volume buttons. If your phone has a button type lock, it would be the only way to prevent volume changes if you carry your phone in your pocket. Perhaps trying a belt clip carry could help your issue.

Thank you for your response. It gives me idea to use automatic locking of phone. During locking (I set delay time to minimum) is no possibility to change volume. The unlocking of phone is simply by opening it or by unlocking keys.Cool
