Lenovo Dock installing as generic device types

2021-10-13, 17:44 PM

Below is what occurs when we connect our type 40AC Thunderbolt dock to a T580, as well as a newer T14. Both machines have the driver installed for this dock. I questioned if the USB-C cable was not capable of Thunderbolt, but before I sent this to the client, I tested the dock on an X1 Carbon and it worked with no issues using the same cable I sent them.

The cable is not the Lenovo branded cable, but again, it worked fine on the X1 Carbon. The T580 is on Windows 1809, the T14 is on 21H1, so appears not to be a Windows version issue.

Any suggestions?
