Power Management Driver for Windows 7 has been removed from Downloads and Software

2017-09-11, 10:08 AM

The power management driver for Windows 7 is no longer listed for the L460/T460/P50 etc. as a download option. Revision 01 of the document n1zku15w.txt (1.67.13.12) lists Windows7 as supported whereas revision 02 of the document no longer includes Windows 7. Why has this driver been removed leaving the customer with nothing to download on models that were sold with Windows 7 installed on them?

I will see if I can get some clarity as to why the revision 02 no longer includes support for Win 7. However, the revision 01 driver for Win 7 is available ver 6.68.14 for the L460;

The link you posted is for the Power Manager utility and not the driver. I was talking about the content between revision 01 and 02 related to the driver 1.67.12.13 (n1zku15w ) and not the power manager application (n1au414w).

The driver had some signing problem on Win7.  We are working on getting this fixed.  Sorry for this trouble!  see here:  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/Power-Management-Driver-1-67-13-12-for-64-bit-Windows-7-n1zku15w/m-p/3797337#M118722

Do you need a download link for a previous version?

Not a problem. I keep all previous driver versions in case something breaks using a newly released version such as the Lenovo Platform Service fiasco which took 3 or 4 versions to get fixed.

LOL..

<1.67.13.12> (n1zku15w)
- (New) Removed support for Microsoft Windows 7

<1.67.13.12> (n1zku17w)
- (New) Added support for Microsoft Windows 7.

This was extracted from the W8.1 readme. The driver for W7 is still missing from the W7 downloads, so you have to go looking for it under W8.1 Sure makes sense doesn't it?

Now I understand what is meant by good help is hard to find these days. :smileyfrustrated:
