Re: Thinkpad DOC USB-C Doc

Kris022,

Are you attempting to deploy they computer through the USB-C dock or are you deploying through the on board NIC?  If the system does not have an on board NIC, are you deploying through the dongle?

I believe that it is best practice to not deploy through these docks, as you would need extracted versions of the drivers to import into your driver library.  I would suggest deploying through the on board NIC or dongle, and then installing the dock installer package as a step in the TS.

HTH,

I have deployed the X1 20K3 using SCCM 1702 and although I used a bare minimum Task Sequence, the deployment was successfull. I deployed the USB-C Harware App as a package. And I think I was confused earlier in the thread and suggested that you needed to also deploy the Thunderbolt Hardware App - the basic Thunderbolt port drivers are available in the SCCM Driver Package - the Hardware app only allows the administration of the security settings and the Thunderbolt Networking function so is not needed to use the port for USB-C dock.

The package is available here:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/acc100348

I created a new package with program using tp_usbc_dock.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART as the command line.

Then in the task sequence I used the "Add" > "Install Package", then selected the package and program.

And I placed the step after "Setup Windows and Configuration Manager".  method. And it is a package with a program.

Let me know.
