Soon, meaning at the same time I posted :) I have been using this with a test set of users with no issues in a few days of testing 🤞

This new driver is also available now direct from Realtek - https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/network-interface-controllers-10-100-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-usb-3-0-software Hopefully soon makes it in Windows Update and starts replacing the 10.43 / 44 versions out there.

We have received this driver for testing about a week ago.

We have installed it without any problems on 3 affected systems.

I also hope, that this driver will make it to Windows Update and Lenovo System Update soon.

We have received an updated driver from Realtek which we have tested with a few customers who have not seen the BSOD issue so far.  I' made the new driver available here until it can be published to our support site:

https://download.lenovo.com/cdrt/eval/Install_USB_AllInOne_KeepNewDriver_10045_8060_7053.sfx.exe

Please try this driver and let us know if any issue.

This did not resolve our issue.

To be clear, we are not experiencing BSODs. Based on the initial problem reports in this thread I assumed my "network disconnects" were related to the BSOD issue.

For us, the symptom is as if the Ethernet cable is being unplugged then immediately plugged back in. Web-based apps are resilient to this and remain unaffected. But we have two local network based applications that continue to crash even after installing the new Realtek driver.

You are seeing the other problem with this driver I think. You might want to look at https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2274486-microsoft-teams-call-drops-ethernet-while-connected-to-surface-dock?page=6 for more detail on that issue.

Re:rtump64x64.sys bluescreen on X1 Yoga Gen 4 attached to ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock - Type 40AC

I've tested a T15 laptop attached to a ThinkPad Gen 2 Dock (Type 40AS). Previously we had to stop using the network port in the dock due to constant disconnects and instead had users plug the network cable directly into their laptops. We avoided attempting to upgrade drivers any further when the reports surfaced of potential BSOD problems which none of our users had yet reported.

With the latest Realtek driver release, I installed it on the test system, then rebooted the system with the network cable attached to the Gen 2 dock. With nothing but simple internet browsing the port would disconnect after 5 to 10 minutes and could not recover until the Gen 2 dock had been power cycled. So I never even got around to testing video conferencing.

The dock was running the latest firmware and drivers for it. So this is disappointing. After installing the Realtek package, the Lenovo USB Ethernet driver reported as being at version 10.45.20.308. And when reviewing some of the Advanced settings it looks like the "Idle Power Saving" now defaults to disabled (although I don't know if that was playing a role in the problems.)

So we still don't have a reliable solution that will let us use the NIC on the Gen 2 Dock. This issue has been dragging on an insanely long time now. My boss is NOT happy about it - and he makes all hardware purchase decisions for the company. Between this and the Realtek "mic drop" sound problems with the Lenovo laptops, Lenovo needs to be seriously considering dumping ALL Realtek chips from its hardware designs - and the sooner the better!

Unfortunately you are seeing the "other" problem with the Realtek driver. The problem that was attempting to be fixed by 10.43/44 drivers which seemed to cause all the BSOD. Not sure if they rolled that fix back in 10.45 or fixed the fix. We have never seen the disconnect issue on any of our Laptops / Docks and still aren't seeing it with 10.45. The other thread I linked to at SpiceWorks above is much more about the disconnect issue. If you haven't you might want to go look there and some of the fixes recommended.

I've tested the new dock ethernet driver version 10.45.308.2021 with our lenovo X13 yoga and the Thunderbolt 3 workstation dock gen 2. We are still experiencing a blue screen WDF violation caused by the rtump64x64.sys dock ethernet driver. This always occurs when the laptop is connected to the dock ethernet network connection and during a video call or meeting in Teams or any other similar app such as Zoom. Please Get Realtek to issue a dock ethernet driver that will resolve this issue. It is an urgent and critical matter causing major disruptions in our employees work.

I'd like to second what rj-tech is saying.  My boss went through the CDW rep where my company purchased all the laptops and docks, there is suppose to be a case file, there was talk of escalation, and then Lenovo contacting me - and I got nothing. NOTHING. No callback, no email, NOTHING.

This disconnect issue has been going on for 5 months now! What are you guys doing? What is Realtek doing?

I installed the latest Realtek driver on to a T15 laptop with a Gen2 dock and the network connection died in 5 minutes from simply browsing the web. It isn't hard to reproduce. A keyboard, a mouse, 2x monitors, plug in the network cable to the dock and BOOM - dead connection within a few minutes. It doesn't seem to matter which USB3 port I plug into on the T15 laptop.

I've even tried the suggested ideas over on the Spiceworks forum thread - nothing works.
