Re:rtump64x64.sys bluescreen on X1 Yoga Gen 4 attached to ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock - Type 40AC

I have successfully run for 21 hours on the 10.43.1029.2020 Driver. Still early and still awaiting additional feedback from Lenovo Premier Support but that is a vast improvement from a crash every 30 minutes.

Re:rtump64x64.sys bluescreen on X1 Yoga Gen 4 attached to ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock - Type 40AC

Running the latest driver on X1 Carbon only seem to get this error when plugging into thunderbolt Gen 2 docks, I have found the click in docks offer a temp solution.

This has been extremely frustrating! Hope they can offer a permeant driver solution to this.

I have been using bluescreenviewer-x64 which gives some detailed insight on the dump file.

Re:rtump64x64.sys bluescreen on X1 Yoga Gen 4 attached to ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock - Type 40AC

2021-02-15, 20:03 PM

Received a notification at 1PM CST that there is a dock firmware upgrade available from the previously suggested Dock Manager installation.

It has failed two attempts to run the update with Status 1 as the error code: Updated failed due to an unexpected event.

Is this an update to resolve the rtump64x64.sys issue?

Just an update from my previous attempts to resolve...

So after the attempt to use 10.43.1029.2020 Driver for our USB-C Dock, we experienced the same BSOD error.

Setup (just to confirm difference): Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen with ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2

I had Lenovo Premier support roll us back to a very old RealTek Driver to remove the rtump64.x64.sys.

https://download.lenovo.com/km/media/attachment/USBCG2.zip

I don't want to recommend this but it came from Lenovo and is an extremely old driver that I have now had 4 days of running without issue.

NOTE: You do need to completely uninstall the drivers for the device before installing this. You also need to ensure that drivers aren't updated by Microsoft Update as it will update them again.

7 Days 2 Hours 23 Minutes and continuing. This is the only solution I have seen work to date. May never update drivers again. :(

My setup is also running smoothly again with the 2019 driver. Will report back if that changes.
