sccm boot image NIC driver

Hi All,

Curently we have custom boot image in SCCM that is based on WinPE 5.1 version.

We have bought 3 new models: Lenovo P51, X270 and T470s and no network driver in boot image for Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-LM devices.

We have tried to add NIC driver from Windows 7 and Windows 10 but boot image still not work.

We not found here drivers for WinPE 5 to our new models:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/sccm-index

Can sameone suggest solution without updating to winPE 10?

Thank you in advance!

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

Aleksejs

I assume you have the driver packs already imported into SCCM. Just import the E1DXXXX.inf into your boot image. I think that should work.

HTH,

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

Hi Tlawson,

Driver package imported to SCCM.

We have custom boot image that not support image servising by SCCM console.

So we add driver to boot image with Dism:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn613857.aspx

Problem is that winPE image is based on windows 8.1 and driver package are avalaible only for windows 10.

Can you provide this driver for windows 8.1?

Thank you!

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

Hi,

Download this zip: https://download.lenovo.com/cdrt/drivers/I219_81-PE5_64.zip

this contains the NDIS64 NIC drivers (WinPE5) and should give you connectivity in WinPE.  let me know if this works or not.

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds112087 should work with WinPE 5 on those models.

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

The link that I sent you worked for me in the lab. And I agree that the HardwareID does not appear to be in the inf file but it did work. Can you try it and let us know?

Thanks

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

Hi Rechols,

We have tested all 3 models with provided driver for WinPE and the same error:

Valid network adapter not found.

Also in boot image already imported about 13 drivers (network and drive).

Can it be issue with drivers conflict?

Re: sccm boot image NIC driver

I will do a little more testing today. But if you multiple nic drivers, that raises the possibility of a conflict. Also make sure to apply the latest BIOS to all 3 models. They can be found from the support page for each specific model at https://support.lenovo.com

I will update with my results as soon as I can.
