Re: Iomega ix4-300d RAID 5 Parity order

Could somebody tell me the exact setting of the RAID 5 used in this ix4-300d as I am trying to recover my files from the hacked NAS. I need the Parity order (left asynchronous, left Synchronous, Right Asynchronous, Righ synchronous), the Size/Block size, Parity repetition/delay, and the start sector of each drive. I need these pieces of information to proceed to the file recovery. This is frustrating because I set my ix4-300d to notify me if there is a new update. Unfortunately, recently I did not receive anything in order to update my NAS to newly released firmware.

Re: Iomega ix4-300d RAID 5 Parity order

Hi joven89

Trying to find the information you need, but unfortunately there are no relevant documents.

I can only provide you the latest firmware download link: Firmware Version 4.1.408.34845 for ix4-300d

Re: Iomega ix4-300d RAID 5 Parity order

Hi joven89

I have found that something may be helpful, but it is not guaranteed. Please try the following:

1. enable SSH on ix4-300d

2. SSH to ix4-300d, login with root account

3. issue the following command:

 # mdadm -D /dev/md1

So you may be able to obtain the RAID information.
