LDAP Authentication for Storage Manager for DM Series Search actions, objects, and pages

2021-02-10, 22:36 PM

I'm attempting to enable LDAP authentication for administrators to login to the Storage Manager for our cluster. However when I try to authenticate users, I'm getting this in the event logs. I do have an LDAP server set up under Cluster > Settings > LDAP though.

@ Jimbill08

Hello Jimbill, I realize that this post has been unanswered for quite some time so I wanted to follow up with you and see if you still needed assistance.

Here is a link to the LDAP configuration guide

Adding an LDAP client configuration

You can use Storage Manager to add an LDAP client configuration at the cluster level or the storage virtual machine (SVM) level if you want to use LDAP services. You must first set up an LDAP client to use LDAP services.

About this task

At the SVM level, you can add an LDAP client only for a selected SVM.

  1. Add an LDAP client configuration by using one of the following methods:
    • Cluster level: click  > LDAP .
    • SVM level: click SVM SVM Settings LDAP Client .
  2. Click Add.
  3. Type the name of the LDAP client.
  4. Add either the Active Directory domain or the LDAP server.
  5. Click  (advanced options), select the Schema , and click Apply.
  6. Specify the Base DN and TCP Port.
  7. Click Binding , and then specify the authentication details.
  8. Click Save and Close.
  9. Verify that the LDAP client that you added is displayed.
