Reset username and Password

Dear Lenovo community,

I have issue on reset username and Password for my DS2200 (ThinkSystem) - Type 4599, I replace a staff in institution, and he could not remember the username and Password for the DS2200 (ThinkSystem) - Type 4599, I manage to connect to the device via a MINI-USB and web interface, the default username: manage and password: !manage fail, is there any way we can manage to reset the credentials.

Hi Sixbert,

Thank you for reaching out to the Lenovo community.

Refer to this post for a similar case and reset the password using CLI as suggested there or submit an eTicket/log a case with Lenovo support if you cannot login with an administrative account. 

  1. Reset via CLI (Command Line Interface):

    • Connect to the DS2200 with a serial cable.
    • Open a terminal emulator and connect to the device.
    • Use the following command to reset the password:  set user manage password new_psd!
  2. Submit an eTicket: click here to learn more about how to submit an eTicket to request service request from Lenov.
