Corporate sync is not forcing my company's security policy

2011-03-29, 14:58 PM

Hi, I just got an Atrix yesterday for my company phone.  I managed to get it synced up with our exchange server, no problem.  However, It just synced without forcing me to accept blanket security policies.  On my old Motorola Droid, when i synced up with the native android email app, it would force me to allow remote wiping of my phone and set a pin to unlock the phone.

So i manually added a pin, but how do i force it to enable remote wipe from my companies servers?

I really hope I can get this figured out.  I spent significant effort arguing with the company that it meets our security policies to allow purchase of this device, and now its not enforcing them. Thanks for the help.

Your Exchange Admin/IT Admin has to enable this remote option on the server side.  Make sure require password is selected as well. They will be able to initiate the wipe from the server side and have the option to wipe the phone from the outlook client and Motoblur account (if set up) as well.

Hope this addresses your question.
