Re: Motoblur keeps turning of every 45 seconds

I thought I posted in a post after the safe mode instructions. A list of

how to get into recovery mode? Maybe I didn't? Google FLIPOUT recovery mode,

that should give you instructions to get into recovery mode, from there you

can clear the cache, and do a factory reset.

Thanks,

J

Re: Motoblur keeps turning of every 45 seconds

i think i'm confsuing things with my terminology used

1. i have gone into recovery mode

2. i have managed to initiate a facotry reset from recovery mode

3. the phone still reboots when in recovery mode

4. now that i have initiated the factory reset - the damn phone STILL reboots - i can't even finish entering initial settings like wifi and it reboots

anything else?

thanks

Did you try clearing the cache while in recovery mode?

Thanks,

Re: Motoblur keeps turning of every 45 seconds

So your phone will reboot even while in recovery mode?

Did you check the battery connection?

This just seems weird.

How about if you plug it in, will it still reboot?

Thanks,

J

Re: Motoblur keeps turning of every 45 seconds

battery connection looks fine

YES: the damn thing will reboot even when plugged in

most of the time it winds me up, because it makes a chime noise just before it reboots

antyhing else at all u can suggest?

or am i stuffed because motorola won't service a brand new phone without receipt?

warning to the world: don't give motorola phones for christmas, birthday or any other type of gifts - the owner will be stuffed

Turn off the phone.

  • Note: Continue to hold down the LETTER X key until you see the  phone go into recovery mode (screen with Android robot, Triangle, and  exclamation mark).
  • •· Press the Lock / Power key once more to access the  Android System Recovery Utilityscreen.
  • •· Use the Volume Down, Left Arrow key, or  the BACKTRACK to highlight wipe data/factory  reset.
  • •· Press the Return key.
  • •· Use the Volume Down, Left Arrow key, or  the BACKTRACK to highlight Yes -- delete all user  data.
  • •· Press the Return key to master reset and wipe all data.
  • •· When finished, you will be taken back to the Android System Recovery  Utility screen.
  • •· Confirm reboot system now is highlighted, then press  the Return key.

Re: Motoblur keeps turning of every 45 seconds

guys, thanks for all the replies

i gave up in the end

i'd tried sooooo many things - nothing worked

date right now: 19th october

i turned on the phone

it seems to be fine

it hasn't restarted

i've installed a cache cleaning app

this has cleaned all cache - that was 0kb removed - this is because the phone is fresh from new - i.e. a factory reset

i've got beside me

i'm not holding my breath at the hope that the problem has somehow magically gone away

i used to dislike motorola phones

they sucked - in my humble opinion

there would be about 5 things that really wound u up - things other phones didnt suffer from

i thought with android, they can't go wrong - since the OS is android

but with my experience with the flipout + the fact that motorola have chosen to disown me and tell me that i'm stuffed because i don't have a receipt (despite being a brand new phone) - i hate motorola a lot more

no i'm not a mad sad geek with nothing better to do

i'm just giving account of my experience

i'd be more than happy to report good and positive things about my experience if i had any
