I am a recent buyer of Motorola FLIPOUT and I feel the battery life is too short.
I tried the best ways to optimise the battery usage using the options available, but no fruitful results.
The worst things the batterry meter always the maximum usage is "Phone idle" and "Cell Standby" at any point of time.
Even I don't use the phone for any of voice calls or internet, the battery drains down completely in 4-5 hours time.
I am disappointed with this fact since without battery life what is the use of a smartphone with so much features?
Can anyone suggest ways or resolve this problem?

There are many things you can do to improve battery life depending on how far you want to go. Here are a few:
Turn off all radios not in use, such as GPS and wifi.
Set your email to "manual fetch".
Put your phone in Airplane mode when not in use.
Turn your screen brightness down.
