wireless connectivity - wireless N doesn't work

2013-07-06, 4:28 AM

My Motorola Flipout is unable to connect to my router, when the router is set to Mixed mode B,G,N,  or G&N mode or N mode.   It will connect when I set my router to G only.   While this is OK for the phone, I do have other N devices in my house.

Is anyone else seeing this?

The really weird part is it did successfully connect to the router in Mixed mode with WPA2, and obtain an IP address,  but it would not pass data.   I was unable to connect to any sites.    As soon as I locked the router to G, the flipout was fine and I was able to connect to websites/data, etc. .

You have probably figured this out by now. But, the Flipout came out in 2010. Wireless N was barely coming out then. I do believe that only certain specifically labeled devices were compatible with wireless N in that time frame. The Flipout is only capable of using G.
